| Currently
residing in Santa Cruz, California, I received
my BA in Sociology with a Minor in Education from
the
UC Santa Cruz, in 1998. I have received several
awards for
my academic writing, including the Dean's Undergraduate
Award for my Senior Honors Thesis "Negotiating
Identity
and Cultural Capital: The Social and Structural
Factors
Affecting the Educational Attainment of Bi-Racial
Men of
African-American Descent." My true passion, however,
lies in my creative writing.
I
tell stories about relationships, and the lessons
we learn
through having them, with an emphasis on the
themes of love,
growth, and healing. Character-driven, each
book
features strong and determined (yet charmingly
flawed)
romantic leads, surrounded by a multicultural
supporting
cast, many of whom will serve as the protagonists
for
forthcoming novels. I hope to create characters,
families,
and communities that readers will want to keep
in touch with for years to come.
